We are excited about the end of the year work we have planned, and we know the students have worked very hard to meet expectations this year. In Math, we will finish our Geometry unit and then explore percents, ratios, and probability. We will weave in review work from earlier chapters as we go along. In History, we will learn about the ancient Greeks and Romans. We will discuss mythology and the impact these cultures have had on modern day civilization. In Language Arts, we’ll reach the end of our work in Wordly Wise and GUM, and finish reading activities related to Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit. We’ll submit writing pieces to the Apple Blossom anthology, and wrap up our other reading and writing assignments for the year.
We have had a very productive year in fifth grade, and we have appreciated all the support provided at home. We hope that some of the strategies learned by our favorite Brodeurians and Mullinites will serve them well in the years ahead.
Please enjoy a happy and healthy summer break.
