Applying to Applewild
The Admission Committee endeavors to enroll students who have demonstrated academic achievement, possess a positive attitude toward schooling, and whose parents seek a well-rounded, rigorous liberal arts education for their child. We look for candidates who will benefit from Applewild’s educational programs and who will contribute positively to the school community. The number of openings for a given grade is determined by the re-enrollment of current Applewild students. Admission decisions, during the regular enrollment process, will be mailed during the second week of March. However, any additional vacancies will continue to be filled on a rolling basis after March 10.

Admission Screening and Testing
The admission office will contact candidates for screening.
Grades K through 4: During the screening, small groups of Kindergarten candidates will spend about an hour in the Kindergarten area with the appropriate faculty. Candidates for grades 1 through 3 will meet individually with a faculty member for about one to two hours. Candidates for grade 4 will spend between two and three hours completing an in-house entrance exam, and meeting with faculty. This may be combined with a day-long student visit.
Grades 5-9: Students who have submitted applications for grades 5 through 9 must register for the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) at www.iseetest.org. Tests are administered at Applewild School or other ISEE test sites. All students in grades 5-9 must complete the ISEE.
Student Visit
All candidates for grades 4-9 are invited to spend a day attending classes with an Applewild student host. After we receive your admission application, we will contact you to arrange your child's day visit. Although students applying for grades K-3 are not required to spend a day at Applewild, we would be happy to arrange a visit for them.
